WEST FARGO, ND – (January 29, 2010) – West Fargo High School Assistant Principal Cory Steiner has been named the 2010 North Dakota High School Assistant Principal of the Year. Dr. Steiner has served as the assistant principal at WFHS since 2006. He will be honored at the State and National Assistant Principals’ Forum in Washington, DC this April.

As an assistant principal, Dr. Steiner has astute awareness of current and emerging issues and passion in improving the school’s learning environment. In a national release, NASSP Executive Director Gerald N. Tirozzi stated, “As school districts across the country struggle with filling school administrator positions, it becomes imperative that we highlight and honor the high flyers in the profession. To shine a light on the work of a quality educator such as Corey Steiner is an honor.”

The National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) and Virco Inc., come together annually to honor a winner from each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools. Additional information about the NASSP/Virco National Assistant Principal of the Year program can be found at www.principals.org/apoy.
